Penalty Points

Penalty points for Precision will be assessed as follows:

  • Cone, barrier wall, etc. dislodged from its location to include cones knocked down, hit or moved from its location to the point where a scoring judge must correct the cone to the correct position: 5 seconds.

    • If a cone is rubbed but not moved off its marked base, no penalty.

  • Rider drops motorcycle within the course: 10 seconds.

  • Rider puts foot down: 5 seconds. This penalty will only be applied for one movement or evolution. Example - if a rider must backup the motorcycle in the exercise in order to correct or continue the movement, only a single penalty will be applied.

  • If a rider rides out of a course, they MUST re-enter the course where they exited: 5 seconds.

  • Clean ride bonus - 5 seconds deducted from the rider’s time.

  • If the path of travel is not followed = Disqualified.

  • Fail to complete an exercise = Disqualified.

  • If an event, or a portion of an event is deemed brakeless, the rider must not cover the rear or front brake.

Penalty points for Time Challenge Heat will be assessed as follows:

  • This will be a heat between two riders of the same class.

  • Winning rider of each heat will advance to next round.

  • Each rider's best time, regardless of heat outcome, will count towards overall placing.

  • Heats will continue until a winner is determined in each class  (each rider's best time will be used towards overall placing).

  • All previously mentioned penalties are applicable.

  • Time begins when the rider crosses the timer start line and ends when the rider crosses the timer finish line.

  • If a rider stops the motorcycle beyond the stop box line, the rider is disqualified.

  • Each timed run will be manually backed up by a stopwatch.

*Random drawing will determine Slow and SMART ride teams.

Slow Ride

Team – Selected at random. Expert/Novice/Inaugural

  • Goal – The object of the team slow ride is for four participants to travel down a pre-determined space as slowly as possible. The team with the slowest combined time for all four participants from a team will determine the winner.

  • Penalties – Time will stop at the occurrence of any of the following:

    • Any member puts their foot down.

    • Any member drops their motorcycle.

    • Any member moves a cone from its marked base.

    • Any member crosses the boundary lines.

    • The team members exchange was not done in time.

  • Timing – The time starts when the first team member crosses the start line.

    • The time stops when the last team members cross the end line.

    • The first rider must be entered into the lane within 5 seconds of the judges starting command.

  • Rider Exchange- Team members shall enter into the pre-determined space.

  • A tire from each team has to be in the course at all times.

When the first team members front tire (the area of the tire in contact with the ground) is about to exit the space (crosses the start/end line), prior to its exit the space, the second team member must raise their foot and enter the space (crosses the start/end line). Team member number 2’s front wheel must be in the space prior to team member number 1’s front wheel exit from the space. Team member number 2 then continues in the lane to the other end. Team members 3 and 4 proceed as stated above. A good exchange occurs when the next team member enters the space (across the start/end line) from a point in time prior to the previous team member exiting the lane with the front wheel, up to and/or until the previous team members front wheel crosses the end line.

SMART Ride

Team: This will be the same team from slow ride.

  • Team with fastest run will win.

  • The team time will stop at the occurrence of any of the following:

    • All previously mentioned penalties are applicable.
